ELA Scholarship Awards Application Form
Mission Statement
Supporting the educational advancement of students endeavoring to become active contributors to the electrical industry of Arkansas.
Awards
Up to two scholarship awards per eligible college are available in amounts up to $1000 per semester. Awards are for one semester only, but recipients may re-apply for another semester. All scholarship awards will be paid directly to the recipient with a ceremonial check also being presented to the award recipient.
Eligibility

Applicants must be full-time students attending an eligible 4-year accredited college or university and a current or prior intern with the an active ELA member company.

Applicants must be majoring in Architectural and Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.

Applicants must have completed at least two (2) years of college credits by the time the award is received.
The ELA Scholarship Awards are awarded without regard to race, sex, religion, age, national origin or sexual orientation. ELA will not award scholarships to applicants who are not qualified and reserves the right not to award a scholarship in a given year.

Demonstrated or expressed interest in the electrical industry and/or engineering education.

Student essay

Letters of recommendation

Academic standing (minimum required cumulative GPA of 3.25).
Application Requirements

A completed application form. Only completed application forms will be considered.

One letter of recommendation preferably from a teacher or school official at the college level.

An unofficial college transcript for the last two years including GPA.

A one page (500 words max) statement stating the applicant's qualifications and educational and career goals.
All four of the above items must be submitted before the application will be considered.
Submission of Letters of Recommendation, Transcript, & Essay
Letters of recommendation should be uploaded with the name of the applicant as part of the file name. The letter should indicate the capacity in which the letter writer knows the applicant, e.g. as a student, employee, or other capacity. The Transcript documents should also be uploaded with name of applicant as part of the file name.
